It’s the first day of spring. How’s the weather in your part of the country?
As I write this post Monday night, I’ve texted with a friend who lives on the east coast and who’s bracing for the fourth Nor’easter in three weeks to hit the northeast; the meteorologists named this storm “Toby.”
Meanwhile, the weather forecasters here in Colorado Springs are doing their “get ready for anything” dance, mentioning the words “rain” and “snow” and “cold” and “warm” all in the same sentences, and all in the next few days. My daffodils are starting to sprout, and I know I’ll have the chance to take a few photos of them covered in snow.
Springtime in the Rockies is here … and we can look forward to more snow … and flowers starting to bloom … and an ice storm or two (or more) … and warmer weather … and temperatures dropping below freezing. Because that’s what spring is like all over the state of Colorado. You just never know. And the funny thing is, Coloradans are proud of our fickle weather.

What a way to start a new season …
Yes, Happy Spring! Spring is wonderful here in Corinth, MS, and in three days I drive north to MN where Spring is beginning to stir so I will enjoy my favorite season twice. That’s fine with me, although I don’t like some of the on again, off again dance you’re describing in CO. Wishing you constant, warm, enjoyable flowering days soon!

Today the forecast is temps in the 60s until late afternoon when it will drop to the 40s and then a freeze warning tonight before temps rebound to the 50s. Here we always say, if you don’t like the weather, give it a couple of hours and it’ll change. 🙂 Hopefully no snow or ice for us here in North Mississippi!

Lovely post, Beth. 🙂 My favorite thing about spring is watching flowers bloom and sprinkle color into the environment. And watching leaves open one day where the previous day there had been no clue they were ready. Oh, and watching the blossoms that color tree branches with whites and pinks. Can’t get enough of that! 🙂

I love waiting for the daffodils to blossom. I learned not to plant tulips because the deer like to snack on them. 🙂
Spring is hiding right now. Winter left a foot of snow behind on our lawns and fields. Winter’s beauty lingers and yet we long for spring’s welcoming sights and songs. I love the slow parting of winter and the warm approach of spring. We look for birds returning and longer days and enjoy the anticipation of spring’s gifts.
