In Others’ Words: Joseph’s Song

I love Christmas music! During the month of December, I’m sharing some of my favorite Christmas songs with you. Joseph’s Song by Michael Card, a modern day psalmist, tells a side of the Christmas story often overlooked.

In Your Words: I’ve had the chance to sing in choirs and even had the chance to participate in Christmas performances. Listening to Christmas music is one thing — singing Christmas music is a whole other experience. So I’m curious: Any performers out there? What’s your talent: vocalist? instrumentalist? actor? And have you performed during the Christmas season?

  1. I’m in the joyful-noise camp. Like Andrew, I sadly have no talent. Just watched one of my sons perform in the Broadway musical version of “A Christmas Carol.” He received talent from an ancestor. 😉

  2. Hi Beth,
My husband and I have directed musical dramas at our church for years. A lot of fun but also a lot of hard work. We’ve finally stepped down and are enjoying the break from the busyness. But it is a wonderful way to be caught up in the real Christmas spirit.

  3. I have sung in high school and college choirs during the Christmas holiday and I have sung at churches, but it has been a while.

  4. Been a lot of years, but yes, I sang and have done lots of performances. I still love singing, but mainly in my car or shower now;) LOL. Music will always be one of my most favorite things. I’ve so enjoyed your song selections!

  5. One of my first performances was “O Holy Night” in junior high. The microphone didn’t work and no one heard a word of my song.

I’m supposed to sing “Mary, Did You Know” next Sunday. I’m hoping the sound system is in good repair. 😉
