Happy December, friends!
Yes, I’m still on my social media break for the month of December, but …
… a few weeks back (like in October), some dear author-friends and I decided to have a Snow Day Giveaway from December 4-12. I wanted to tell you all about that now so you had a chance to enter the giveaway for a chance to win the prize package worth $300. One reader will win all this:
- All This Time by Melissa Tagg (Melissa and I met as wannabe-writers. I love her romances!)
- Things I Never Told You – an ARC of my upcoming May 2018 release
- The Lost Castle by Kristy Cambron (I’ve read this and loved it!)
- Life After by Katie Ganshert (Katie is so honest and writes from that honesty.)
- A Stranger at Fellsworth by Sarah Ladd (Love her historical romances so much.)
- Just Look Up by Courtney Walsh (Courtney is so fun … and her husband and she also run a children’s theater!)
- Imperfect Justice by Cara Putman (Love her legal thriller series — and her mentor’s heart for other writers!)
- The Austen Escape by Katherine Reay (Anyone a Jane Austen fan? Katherine and I also bond over the fact that our daughters play volleyball.)
- Gift cards from: Starbucks, Williams-Sonoma, Panera Bread, ETSY, Amazon, Barnes&Noble, and Target, a special literary tumbler from author Katherine Reay, and holiday tea to keep you cozy on the long reading nights ahead!
So, have a great month — and make sure you enter the Snow Day Giveaway!

My favorite part about Christmas is spending time with my family. The music, food, lights, decorations, and gifts are all fun, but spending quality time with those I love, and remembering the true meaning of Christmas is what creates lasting memories.
Author
Cheryl, I love spending time with my family, too. Making memories with them is so special. And I love seeing the photos for years to come!
The others in this giveaway write some of my favorite books.
It’s a hard to pick one thing as a favorite about this time of year. Making it special for my 5 kids and teaching them the real reason for Christmas is what best describes it for me.
Merry Christmas!
I meant authors…not others!
Author
Rebecca: Yes, making Christmas special for our children is always important, isn’t it? My two GRANDgirls are here with me now, and they helped decorate our tree. I loved that.
What a fun giveaway, Beth! I have so many favorite parts of Christmas. I love spending time with my three guys…checking out lights, watching a Christmas movie, working on a jigsaw puzzle. I like when things slow down a few days before the holiday and we can relax together.
Author
Jeanne: I love how your family does jigsaw puzzles during the holidays. What a wonderful tradition.
Filling Christmas stockings and seeing children’s delight in opening them has been my favorite part.
Have a WONDER-FULL Christmas, Beth & family!
Author
Dee: Rob and I have started choosing themes for the stockings. The kids love finding out what the theme is each year. 🙂
What are some examples of your themes? I might need to try that.
Author
Examples of my themes? Do you mean examples of my One Words from years past, Gail?
Beth, what a wonderful gift bundle. My favorite part of Christmas is sitting around the dinner table with family. I love to watch and listen closely to all the interactions because I don’t take our times of togetherness for granted; some families have empty chairs at their table. I’ve been there, I know what it feels like.
Blessings on your Christmas break ~ Wendy
Author
Wendy: I love the Christmas meal, too, because all of the family takes part in preparing the meal.
I also love our family game times.Lots of laughter during those hours.

This is a fabulous Giveaway! I love giveaways! My favorite thing about Christmas is celebrating Jesus’ birth by listening to Christmas music, giving gifts and making goodies for friends and family!
Author
Emilee: I so enjoy Christmas music, too, but I wait until after Thanksgiving to listen to it. 🙂
I love being with my family and the church Christmas Eve service. This year will be different. I lost my FIL April 1 and my mom on Thanksgiving Day. Ever since my dad passed away in 1982, my mom has spent the night with us on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. The first time in 35 yrs she won’t be with us.
Author
Gail: I’m so sorry for your double loss this year. It will be a difficult Christmas for you. You’ll be in my prayers, my friend.
My favorite part of Christmas is getting together with family. I also love the Christmas music and special decorations. Thanks for the chance to win this amazing giveaway. I’ve read books by all of these authors but the only one in this group that I’ve read is Katie’s. It’s a wonderful book.
Author
Pam,
I’m looking forward to reading Katie’s book. I know it’s been on her heart for a while.
My favorite part of Christmas is going to my daughter’s home and spending the Holidays with the grandchildren.

Author
Sherri: I love Christmas music, too. And my Spotify playlist makes it so much easier to enjoy all my favorite songs! 🙂
A wonderful bundle and that is my favorite part of Christmas. Being off from work and bundling up and keeping warm and reading and reading and reading. I love to listen to Christmas music and watch the Hallmark Christmas movies also.
Author
Hi, Carla:
My youngest daughter and I have been enjoying the Hallmark Christmas movies, too. It’s always fun to discover new favorites and watch the ones from years past.
My favorite part of Christmas is the time spent in the evenings with my family (now most times just my husband) sitting in the dark with only the tree lights illuminating the room, sipping hot coffee or cocoa, and reading our Advent devotional.
Author
Anne: That sounds lovely. I turn the lights on my Christmas tree on in the morning, when it is still dark … and leave them on all day long into the night. I love Christmas lights.
My favorite part of Christmas is seeing my kids open their gifts and just spending time with them.
Author
Margie:
That’s a fun time, isn’t it? Journalist Andy Rooney said this: “One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don’t clean it up too quickly.”
I would agree.
🙂
My favorite part of Christmas is getting our family together. We always have a great time.
Author
Kathy: I’m looking forward to my son coming home for Christmas — he lives in Seattle. And yes, with all the kiddos home, there will be game nights and time to talk and we’ll probably all pile into cars and go drive around and look at the lights. 🙂
That is a very hard question to answer, because I love all things Christmas. One favorite part is the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.
Author
I agree, Kay. There is so much to love about Christmas. And the candlelight service is a favorite.
My favorite part of Christmas is the Christmas feast! And the fact that it is my Lord’s birthday… that makes Christmas extra special.
