Daniel wandered a little farther a-field today: Where in the world is Daniel?
Leave your comment below or on my Author Facebook page for chances to win a prize package worth over $100. (Share on Twitter and your FB for extra entries. Be just sure to let me know!):
- a collection of sixteen postcards by wildlife photographer Thomas Mangelson (Remember how Daniel gave Alli a gift of a Thomas Mangelsen photograph, Maroon Bells Daybreak?)
- a $20 Starbucks gift card (Daniel keeps himself caffeinated while he travels the world!)
- a “Life is Good” water bottle (Daniel’s motto — and he was wearing a “Life is Good” T-shirt in Chapter 1 of WYWH.)
- a $50 Visa gift card (Always good to have on hand if you’re a traveling man like Daniel.)
- a Heart of Adoption necklace (The same necklace that we gave away at the Debutantes’ Story Soiree.)
- a signed copy of Wish You Were Here
- a signed copy of my to-be-released in May 2013 novel, Catch a Falling Star
I won’t “approve” any guesses until the end of the day so that people have a chance to enter their answers. And I’ll give you one hint: Ignore the “Europe” stamp.
Last Thursday, Daniel was at Prince Edward Island, aka P.E.I., somewhere I want to visit someday! Lots of you who commented said you also want to go one day — and Sara Suderman is fortunate enough to have visited the home of “Anne with an ‘e'” Shirley, the heroine of Anne of Green Gables.

He’s clearly at Blarney Castle in Blarney, Ireland! 🙂
Blarney Castle, Ireland!
I would guess that Daniel is kissing the Blarney Stone in Cork, Ireland. I can’t think of any other stones that people kiss.
Daniel would be at Blarney Castle, near Cork Ireland.
Okay, how … OUH! I think I know!
Paris! La belle ville!
Ou bien, simplement France?
Thanks Beth for this fun activity!
And the guesses are rolling in early this morning … y’all are too smart. 😉
Could it be the Blarney stone in Ireland?
Patty
I am going to guess Blarney Castle in Ireland 🙂
The Blarney stone in Ireland 🙂
The Blarney Stone of Blarney Castle, Blarney, Ireland.
For post card #6 Daniel is at the Blarney Stone (Irish: Cloch na Blarnan) a block of bluestone built into the battlements of Blarney Castle, Blarney, about 8 kilometres (5 mi) from Cork, Ireland. I’ve been to Ireland 4 times but haven’t been to Blarney yet, though some friends say I have enough blarney without it.
Ireland! 😀 I’m thinking he’s kissing the Blarney Stone! OH SO JEALOUS!!!
Wayll, if it isn’t the luck o’ the Irrrish he’s after! The wee laddie, he’s gone and roon off to Castle Blarrney, he has! He be therre to kiss the Blarrney stone in order to coax a few sweet worrds froom his heart for his bonnie lass. Perhaps he’s gone a’traipsin’ through the gardens to fetch himself a wee bit o’ Irrish clover to bless his jerrney back home to her side.
Ah! It’s the luck o’ the Irish and their smooth talking you’re writing aboot this fair morn’, aren’t ye? Daniel’ll be kissing the Blarney Stone in County Cork of the the auld country of Ireland.
Ooh, ooh, the Blarney Stone?
And I want to go to PE Island sometime too! 🙂
The Blarney Stone of Blarney Castle??
Always after me Lucky Charms! (sorry, but I still love to say this)
Daniel is in Cork, Ireland!
Keep the guesses coming … I will do the “big reveal” later this afternoon. 😉
Okay, I don’t know what happened. 🙂 My comment disappeared. So, just in case it didn’t come to you, I’ll try again. 🙂 This one stumped me. I am guessing it’s the kissing rock in Thorold, Ontario. Although, there is also a rock muslim pilgrims try to kiss when they are on hajj in Mecca, Saudi. I’m looking forward to finding out the answer to this one. 🙂
Ireland…where the Blarney Stone is?
Blarney Castle in Ireland. Mom and I were there in May. We climbed up to the top, but didn’t kiss the stone–we already have enough blarney in the family. The group ahead of us on the 88 steps was a high school group from Canada. When they realized we weren’t going to lay on our backs over open air to kiss a rock, they said…as only 17 year olds can, “You HAVE TO kiss the stone. My reply was that age teaches you that there are very few things in life that you HAVE to do. :-). One gal came up to Mom and saidmthatmshe kissed it on our behalf.
Oohhh, that must be the Blarney Stone!
Oh wait! I heard that there’s a piece of the original Blarney stone at Texas Tech! Is he in Lubbock, Texas?
I read that too, Becky!
How about Blarney Castle in Blarney, Ireland?
yep…blarney stone!!!
