I see words in color.
Not every word … names, mostly. And certain other ones. No rhyme or reason to why or why not a word appears in my head in color or basic black.
My name? Beth
My husband’s name? Rob
Home family friendship laughter celebrate sorrow tears
And yes, I have my favorite color: forest green
My least favorite color? Grey (or gray) — and I intend to keep it hidden in my hair too.

I love your visual & wasn’t aware of that great quote. God did make us very responsive to color. I remember standing as a little kid in front of the color-graduated displays of spools of thread, zippers, yarns in J.C. Penney and loving them. I still do. There’s something so satisfying about the blended harmony of them. I loved stringing colored macaroni in Kindergarten and still love designing and stringing jewelry now. My favorite color? Rich deep burgundy that somehow gives energy and assurance. Thanks for post.
A few years ago I had the unexpected experience of ‘seeing’ music in color and shape.
The piece was “The River” from Ennio Morricone’s score for the film “The Mission”, and as I listened to it with closed eyes, suddenly – hey, presto – colors!

I’ve always been a fan of musty, mossy greens. And never cared much for reds/oranges/yellows. Then we moved from Florida to Wyoming, and now, South Dakota. And I’ve noticed a gradual shift over the years where oranges and yellows with hints of reds have taken over my preferences. Because I associate them with warmth and sunshine and they make it a little easier going through the long winters up here. I still love the mossy greens, but I surround myself in sunshine now.
I’m so grateful for a colorful world. Sometimes I buy things just because of the color combination. I see my home and family as sunshiny yellow, but only because you asked. Starting now, I’m going to be more aware of color in my thinking and writing.

Generally, I love bright, bold colors. But I’ve learned to appreciate the subtle hues, too. I’ve always been interested in interior decorating, and color is a huge part of the reason. As for how it effects my life, I tend to wear bold colors when I’m feeling happy or courageous or like I just accomplished something great. I wear black when I’m feeling depressed or when I feel powerful and confident. I love wearing my blue jeans with a really bold top. There’s something fun and spunky in that combination.
