I’ve followed a few hunches in my life … sometimes I’ve walked through an open door and sometimes I’ve walked right into a brick wall.
But at least I was moving forward, right?
I love the idea of intertwining a hunch with creativity — splashing that “Maybe this will work” feeling with a bit of red and blue and purple and green and yellow. That’s the best way to treat a hunch: with lots of color, some time to simmer, and the permission to flourish.
In Your Words: Ever follow a hunch? Where’d you end up? I’d love for you to join the conversation and tell us about it.

I love to follow hunches, they lead such delightful places! Like one lonely Friday night at the ACFW conference several years ago, I took someone up on an invitation to a Pizza party and look where it led—My Book Therapy! I wouldn’t have such wonderful friends, mentors, and encouragers in my life today if I hadn’t.

I am so, so thankful you followed that hunch, Edie!
They come in whispers often and yep, I try to follow them. Often I don’t see the results but that’s okay. Something is happening to me and with me in the following.

Somehow I suspected you were a hunch-follower …
Ooh, I just had this experience in my writing this week. Something has felt off about my opening scenes for awhile and yesterday morning I had a little niggle of, “hmm, try this…just see where it goes…” I got so excited as that hunch came to life. And then…
And then it was 7:30 and I realized I was supposed to be at work in half an hour. Hehehe…
Also, I love Frank Capra. 🙂

Oh, how fun … when a hunch leads you to a wide open door … and yeah, makes you (almost) late for work.
😉
I not only follow them, I engage in real conversations with them.

Holly,
Love this!
Absolutely l-o-v-e this!
Liked this, Beth. One hunch I followed was to tell a certain friend about this crazy story idea I had. And wouldn’t you know that friend told me to write it?! I’m so glad you did. I love walking this road with you. 😉

Jeanne,
That hunch was a wide open door, wasn’t it?
🙂
Yes I do–all the time! They lead me to some really interesting places.

Not surprised, Terri … and I bet you have stories you could share.
All the time! The best led straight to my hubby. 🙂

OOOH! I want to hear more, Kathryn!
I agree with Terri. Following those God-nudges makes all the difference and always broadens my scope beyond what I expect going in. Woo Hoo!!

Hunches … God-nudges.
I like that phrase, Donna.
You have great taste in quotes. Happy I have a notebook to write them down right beside my desk.

Kim … me & quotes: I love ’em. I do, I do.
And I love sharing them with others.
