With thanks to our military men and women — each and every one a hero. I’m saying a special prayer today for those who are grieving a child, a sibling, a spouse, a parent, a friend because they lost their life while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Praying with you, Beth, for those who have lost loved ones in service. I attended a military funeral a few years back and it was one of the most sobering experiences of my life. But I walked away so grateful for the people who have served and are serving still for the sake of my freedom.
My friend is remembering her son, who was killed in Afghanistan last October. He was married with 2 little girls. It’s their first of many Memorial Days …
When my dad served in Desert Storm, Gen. Schwarzkopf became an American hero (along with my dad) in our home while my dad was deployed. I can remember watching the news, hearing him speak, and admiring him so much. I’m so thankful for and proud of my dad who served honorably as an officer in the US Army for over 20 years. My brother is currently deployed. So thankful for his service too.
Seeing as how these men I’ve mentioned are still alive, really their day is Veteran’s Day, but hey– service is service and I’m grateful for those passed and living.
