What are you looking for today?
Me? I’m looking for the good stuff. The good people. The good actions. The good interactions.
- Kindness.
- Patience.
- Smiles.
- Acts of grace.
- Laughter.
That kind of good stuff.
And then I’m going to praise that goodness. I’m going to say “thank you” out loud. I’m going to smile back. I’m going to hug someone. I’m going to pay it forward.
And if I get a chance — and I know I will — I’m going to be good when I can, too. Not because I want the praise, but because the world needs more good. More kindness. More patience. More smiles. More graciousness. More laughter.
In Your Words: Won’t you join me today — and the rest of the week — in looking for the good and praising it? And what good have you seen lately?

I see good in the fell tidings offered by my failing body.
It’s just another opportunity to show that I don’t know how to spell ‘surendar’, much less what the word means.
Bring it, death. You’ll lose.
Again.

Andrew:
You truly are a good man.
And you show us daily how to live a good life with courage and humor and care for others. And when I say “others,” I include your dogs, whp have been abandoned by other people, only to be found by you and your wife and brought into a safe haven.
Transitioning to another home for nearly 6 months a year, I am blessed by small and sometimes random acts of kindness that accumulate faster than a snowball rolling downhill. When the person required to mow my lawn did but waited so long it needed raking, two neighbors jumped in and did it even before I arrived. One of them found a simple solution to remove an unsightly adhesive streak on flooring that was almost problem enough to buy new floor cover. Besides saying heartfelt thank yous, the best way to appreciate is by passing it on and sending that giant snowball as far as it can go!

Dee: I love your image of a snowball rolling along, gathering goodness.
And I am cheered greatly at the thought of others being so very good to you. 🙂
Thank you for this great sentiment. We need more of this in today’s world. Blessings!

I agree with you, Paula — and I believe there is lots and lots of good in this world. We just need to open our eyes and see it.
As one who finds it easy to see the things in my kids that need “training” God has been challenging me to see the beautiful good He’s placed in each. And, He’s helping me to discover good in each of our boys.
And yes, I’ll take your challenge to find good in my days.
