Memorial Day is personal … to my friends whose husbands died while they were on active duty in the United States military. To my friend whose son was killed while leading a patrol in Afghanistan.
Perhaps it is personal to you too, or to someone you know. Memorial Day brings to mind a name … a face … a loved one who will always be missed.
Yes, they are heroes and heroines.
But to you, to me, they are family. Friends.
Never forgotten.

In a remote village square on my 1st mission trip to Philippines I told them I was honored to be there near where my father had been w/ U.S. Navy in Manila Bay during WWII & instantly people I had never met stood to their feet & applauded their thanks so fast it shocked me. U.S. involvement brought their freedom, & I personally saw how much it mattered. I was also privileged to pass their thanks on to my father who is still alive.

Thank you, Joanne. It was a delight meeting you at BRMCWC.
Yes. Never Forget and Thank You – it’s what I keep telling my kids, because we enjoy our freedoms while others fight for them. Perfect post today, Beth:)
