I know this is election day in the U.S. — but this is not an election day post. I don’t do politics on this blog or any other social media. I did vote, in case you’re wondering. And I did pray about the election.
One thing I do know is, come what may today, tomorrow, the next day … God remains the same. And that truth is comforting.
There’s a funny dynamic to faith in God: My faith has changed as my understanding of God has deepened over the years — and yet God has remained the same. I’ve changed too. I’ve learned to trust God more as my faith has grown through the years. The God I first met when I was 21 years old is not the God I know today … but it’s not that He’s different. It’s that He’s revealed more of Himself to me. His faithfulness. His mercy. His grace. His stability. His truth.
Do I still have questions? How do I … and what now … and why would someone … and what should I say or do … and which way do I go questions?
But I know where to take those questions. God’s ears are open to my prayers (1 Peter 3:12) … and He always answers.

One of the most important things I learned years back is that God loves us to get past quiet unthinking acquiescence to fume and even ask tough questions because He has answers solid enough to handle those and He loves the intense conversations that take us deeper.

Such wise words, my friend. Yes, God is not afraid of the tough questions. He welcomes them. He desires deeper relationship with us, doesn’t He?
For a long time I believed there were a lot of gray areas between right and wrong, but as I came to know God and what His Word says, I learned there wasn’t that much gray. Being in His Word is the best way to know Him. And looking back at how He’s worked in my life. Good post!

And yes, knowing God’s word — the Truth — is the best way to know Him. And remembering who He has been in the past is a valuable road marker to who He will be in our future.
I don’t have questions, because I know all the answers. Best not to play against me on Jeopardy.
Seriously, things are as they are, and the ‘why’ doesn’t matter. I do what I can do, and generally there’s a bias to one choice.

But you’d agree there are more questions than “Why?,” right? (See, I just asked a non-why question. Point proven.) 😉
I know you are a take life as it comes kind of guy. You shoulder your burdens with no complaint.
But I also know God is willing to converse with us and that includes hearing our opinions, our questions, and our praise.
There are indeed a lot of questions…but as things are developing I find little need nor energy to ask them.
I merely have to keep fighting in the hope that there ARE answers. And when it’s all done, I won’t really care what those answers are.
