I am still trying to find the words to describe the birth of my granddaughter, Alison Elizabeth, on Wednesday, July 24.
I’ll let you know when I find them.
All of my emotions seem to find their expression in tears … and silence whenever I hold this miracle in my arms.
I’ll be spending Friday welcoming her home … and falling more in love.

Beautiful, Beth. Somehow, I knew there would be a lot of happy tears for you. 🙂
I think times that have left me speechless were the first time I held each of our sons. There are no words that fit some occasions.
Congratulations again, my friend.

Thank you, Jeanne. Tears seem to be my response for now.
Last Saturday when my nephew-in-law placed my great nephew in my arms for the first time. No words, just tears of joy for that long prayed for baby boy!

Congratulations to you too, Anne!
Wednesday. She was born on Wednesday. (You said you couldn’t find the words.) 🙂 I can’t wait to meet her!

Loss for words?
Right now…looking at your photo with misty eyes and remembering my own first grandma moments…
Sweet blessings to you as you begin this new journey.

Thank you, Bernadette.
So happy for all of you! When I saw my dear grandson for the first time, I felt that same way. They are so precious! Enjoy!!

The enjoyment just keeps happening …
Sweetie, sometimes you don’t even need to search for the words. Allow this precious miracle to flood your heart with joy!

Amen to that, Lisa!
Congratulations, Beth! Savor the experience. It must be surreal.

“Savor” is the perfect word, Keli.
She is beautiful! My marriage, the birth of my children and each of my grandchildren left me speechless with wonder, thankfulness and pure love. And many happy tears! Enjoy that baby, treat every moment with her with wonder – she is precious.

Wise words, Michelle. Ali Beth can certainly make time stop … and all the things I have to do disappear.
At a loss for words … I think my time’s coming soon. She really is beautiful and precious and perfect, Beth. I’m so happy for you!

Cannot wait until your time comes, Kim — and we both are speechless.
Sometimes the words needed do not come in verbal form. And they never will.

Indeed.
She is absolutely precious, Beth. Congratulations to your family.
At a loss for words? So many times. Beholding God’s creation does it for me, whether it’s my children, my deep love for my husband, or a sunset, God leaves me at a loss for words. He is Awesome to behold.

Thank you, Coleen.
Welcome to the world of grandlittles, Beth. We got here so quickly, yes? There really are no words….just love and wonder and breathtaking joy. Much love to you, dearest Beth.

“Grandlittles” — I’ve always like that word you invented, Patricia.
And it is grand … and breathtaking.
So happy for you and your family, Beth. I was wondering how it compares to having your own child? More intense because you don’t have the physical recuperation happening?
Cheers,
Sue

It is different from having my own child … the love is intense … and yet, I am watching my daughter be the mom …
You are responsible for one of those times at my first ACFW. Susan May Warren was for another this last weekend at Duluth–grateful.
Congratulations Beth! Truly precious and I love the qoute.
Congratulations, Beth. May Alison be blessed with much health & bring her family much joy.
holding my kids and grandsons for the first time, and when I got the call that my daughter had died

Oh, Teresa,
You have experienced both the greatest joy and the deepest sorrow. I am so, so sorry.
Beth, congratulations to you and your whole family. I know Ali Beth will be giving you lots of joy in the coming years… and probably fodder for many more stories as well (dare I hope?).
When I asked four different writer friends to read over my ms proposal, and all four women said yes… I was so humbled and definitely at a loss for words. (Thanks, Beth!)
Blessings,
Andrea
Warmest, most sincere congratulations.
Such a precious moment. I was beyond joy when I held my grandson for the first time. I thought it couldn’t be more wonderful. Then came his baby sister…
Congratulations! I saw this while traveling and wasn’t able to say congratulations to mom & dad too!
Thank you, Stacy! <3
