Spine Poetry by Anne Payne: Whodunit?

It’s getting late on Thursday night. I’m not feeling particularly productive or creative … and there’s a blog post to write.

So I’m taking advantage of others’ creativity and sharing some of the Spine Poetry fun that’s been happening on my Author Facebook page. I’ve run into some incredibly imaginative people this past week — and they’ve all created some fun, inspiring and thought-provoking Spine Poetry.

What is Spine Poetry, you ask? It’s a poem made by using the titles on book spines. Take a look:

This one by my friend, Sonia Meeter, had me laughing!

The Hollow by Megan Wilson

Spine Poetry by Megan Wilson: Stranger Online

Megan Wilson’s Spine Poem has a “techno” feel to it. And author Keli Gwyn’s Spine Poem tells a beautiful story.

  1. I love this. Every time I took a few seconds to click on FB, I saw these, but didn’t have time to see what they were about. What have I done this week to feel creative? I dunno, maybe finish my edits? 🙂 At least I hope I have. Will know after I read it again. lol

  2. These are so great, Beth! What fun!

I guess I made a few videos this week. That felt creative. 🙂 Last night my uncle was in town and he took me out to one of my faaaavorite restaurants–Famous Dave’s. I mixed a few different kinds of bbq sauce. That felt creative. And this weekend…I shall get creative trying various State Fair foods. Oh wait, maybe that’s more brave than creative. Dunno. But it’ll be fun. 🙂

    1. I adore Famous Dave’s!! And umm, my friend Kathy Antone sang at his wedding. Yuh huh, her family knows his family sorta well. Cool, eh?
We told that to our waitress at a Famous Dave’s in Abilene and got smiled at. I’m not sure if that sweet girl believed us.

      Corn dogs=brave.

Ah, Famous Dave’s. Love it. And I have a funny story from Famous Dave’s, involving a friend as a waiter and a tipped tray of drinks …

      Loving all your videos!

  3. Thanks for including mine. It’s been so much fun and now I can’t pass by my bookshelf without ‘seeing’ another poem! Besides photo editing, I guess Spine Poetry has been my creativity this week 🙂

  4. It’s been so fun to read these spine poems on your page this week, Beth! I haven’t had time to be creative in that way, but I’m thinking on it. I’ve been creative in my writing this week. Working on my story and having fun. Had some new ideas pop into the story on Wednesday that will be so much stronger. I love it when God guides my creativity. 🙂

  5. I hadn’t run into these before. Fun concept. While packing house to sell/move, I actually had to assemble 2 bags (gasp, weep) of books to give away to a good cause–simply out of room, but none of your books, I assure you. 🙂
