Obviously, this week’s quote refers to those wonderful surprises that cause a smile to burst across our face … and maybe even cause our feet to tap out a hApPy DaNcE … our fingers to fast dial our spouse or closest friend …
Those kinds of surprises.
They can be as simple as an unexpected, but oh-so-needed rainbow curving across a still-damp-from-the-rain sky.
Or as complex as finally … finally seeing your dream come true. That dream you whisper right before you blow out the candles on your birthday cake … or toss a penny in a wishing well … or offer a prayer for one more time because you know that you know that you know that God’s ears are open to your prayers …
In Your Words: What surprised you this week?

What surprised me most this week?
That I was able to put together a blog post (up today) about tithing and whether it’s called for in the New Covenant. I’d been mulling it over but never quite got a handle on it, and it became pretty clear – that even though it’s ambiguous in Jesus’ words, and the rest of the New Testament, it’s still a good idea.
It gives us ownership of our church – helps make it ‘our church’. We rarely value what we get for free. After all, two thousand years ago we got Jesus for free, and look what we did to Him.
Must go read that blog, Andrew!
It’s fun to be surprised by our own accomplishments!
I can’t say I’ve had any surprises this week, but I know God is full of them! He loves to make possible the impossible:)
Making the impossible possible — Love that about God!
My surprise? Just now, in the mail, the Baker Books Spring Catalog with Shadows of the Past in it!!! I totally wasn’t expecting it. Still happy dancing!!
Ooh ooh I remember getting their fall catalogue awhile back. I might have squealed. 🙂 Yay for you, Pat!!!
OH … I want to see a picture of that!!!
Hmm, a package in the mail yesterday surprised me…I was planning on receiving my books today, but turns out, my editor sent an early copy with a sweet note and additional cover printouts. It was sooooo sweet. 🙂
I saw that on FB! Yay!!

A wonderful, once in a lifetime surprise!
Hearing today at lunch that a dear friend who has wanted grandchildren for a long time is going to have one in March. Others thought she had already told me, but it was a total surprise. I’m so excited for her!
