Sometimes I find myself at a loss for words … and I allow silence to fill the space between my inhales and exhales.
And sometimes, someone else has found the words for me and put them to music. And I don’t need to grasp how to somehow, someway express my loss … or my joy … or my questions … or my certainty.
Today I’m sharing a song by Kari Jobe that’s filled the void when words failed me.

Music is truly my soul’s language. What a wonderful way to start today with your words here and this beautiful song from one of my favorite worship leaders. For the past few months, Hillsong’s “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” has been at the top of my playlist. Thank you for this musical blessing today!

Can’t wait to listen to the song you mentioned. Hillsong’s music so often ministers to me.
Many songs this week, but can’t improve on the words of yours from one of my favorite Psalms. If there are awards for blogs, yours consistently deserves top prize.

🙂
Another beautiful post, Beth.
Yes, music has a power to move me beyond the now, beyond discouragement, beyond sorrow and into a place of peace, rest and hope. God’s amazing.
One song that really touched my heart recently was “I’ll Stand With Arms High”. At least, I think that’s the title. After a hard few days, this song ministered to my heart as I remember Whose I am, and that He is my safe place. I can surrender all of who I am to Him.

I know you, Jeanne, and I know you have a musician’s heart — a singer’s heart.
Awesome song! Thanks.

You are so welcome, Pat!
Three songs have been playing in my head this week –
“This is War” – by Thirty Seconds to Mars – a perennial favorite
“Viva La Vida” – Coldplay – another perennial favorite, with a nice message of redemption after a hard fall
“Do You Love Me?” – Guster – a fresh, bouncy romantic tune. Can’t be in a bad mood when you hear it.
Beethoven it ain’t. Fun it is.

Okay, Andrew.
I love the song “Do You Love Me.” Just listened to it for the first time.
But that is the freakiest video I have EVER scene.
FREAKY.
But fun!
This isn’t probably what you mean but I turn on the radio when I get on the treadmill and that music encourages me to keep going! :)) Seriously, though, we sang some awesome songs in church this week and they left me lifted!!
Off topic, but I wanted to share this –
I’m teaching Bella to walk again by ‘patterning’ – putting her on her feet and moving her hind legs for her. While I help one leg forward, she has to support herself on the other. She’s starting to kick the moving leg, and has taken a few independent steps (with hands ready to catch her if she falls).
Today at the end of her session she was standing, unassisted, and just looked around. I wonder how it felt to her – to go from useless hindquarters to standing like a normal dog?

Thank you for sharing, Andrew … and hmmmm … I see a spiritual truth here …
Andrew, how amazing is that? Glad I got to read about Bella’s progress.
Like others shared, I’ve had a week full of music. Especially love this one.
