“Gratitude is an antidote to negative emotions, a neutralizer of envy, hostility, worry, and irritation. It is savoring; it is not taking things for granted; it is present-oriented.”

I hope today’s quote encourages you and that you’re able to lean into gratitude.

I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

The holiday season doesn’t mean we can push pause on relationship ups and downs, heartaches, and disappointment. Which makes it all the more important to search for reasons to be thankful. They’re still there in the midst of all our circumstances. Sometimes reasons to be thankful are just more difficult to see.

 I’m thankful for each one of you who reads this blog and who joins the conversation.

  1. It’s not what thanks can do for me,
    to set a bright Thanksgiving mood;
    it’s something different, don’t you see…
    what can I do for Gratitude?
    I can hold it to my chest
    and bask in the delightful glow,
    but I think it might be best
    to release it, let it go
    to fly abroad across the land,
    trailing shining flaming grace
    that helps the weary understand
    in whatever they may face,
    that gratitude for what God’s given
    is the highest way of living.
